About me
I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba where I became a doctor in 1991 and served as a family physician for several years. In 1999, I moved to Florida where I have lived ever since. Being a resident of Florida has provided me with the chance to interact with people from various cultures on a regular basis. This has given me a unique perspective that helps me understand my patients better. Spanish is my native language, but I am also fluent in English. I’ve found that being bilingual also allows me to connect and communicate better with my patients. I decided to go into medicine because I wanted to make a long-lasting positive impact on the lives of others. The opportunity to go beyond treating illnesses and work towards prevention in the pursuit of helping patients reach the highest quality of life is my greatest motivator in pursuing the field of medicine. A good day at work means I had a positive impact on my patients and made strong connections with them. I want you to know that at Sanitas we work to provide the highest quality medical care for our patients. We strive to foster an inclusive environment for our patients and their families. When I take off my coat, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, either traveling or just lounging at home. I also enjoy curling up with a good book and a cup of tea.
