I consider my patient’s physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being as my top priorities. I strive to provide culturally competent care and shared decision making with my patients. And seeing my patients living happy and fulfilling lives as they implement healthier lifestyle choices and learn proper disease management gives me great satisfaction. I chose medicine as my career because I enjoy helping people understand wellness and educating them on how to achieve and maintain their health goals. Gerontology, understanding and treating the physical aspects of aging, along with the mental, social and societal implications of aging, was of specific interest to me. Born in Guyana on the northern edge of South America, I now live in Miami where I speak both English and Spanish. When I’m not at work, I watch sports and love to cook. I especially like trying recipes from different cultures.
