As a nurse practitioner at Sanitas, I’m empathic to my patients and I really listen to their concerns. I can also talk with patients in English and Spanish. I count on having good teamwork, which works best for all patients. It’s a good day at work, when I get to help everyone--patients, families and staff. Born and raised in Colombia, I came to the U.S. in 2001 for safety and better opportunities. I decided to become a nurse practitioner because of the care gaps I witnessed due to the shortage of medical professionals. It’s a rewarding career and my goal is to serve those in need. In my free time, I like to go to the beach and enjoy being with my family. On my outings, I’ll bring a great book to read, too. I also get a lot of pleasure caring for my plants and watching them bloom.
