As a nurse practitioner, my goal is to influence change in patients for better self-care and quality of life. Believing that preventive care is essential for maintaining good health, I listen to patient concerns and partner with them to provide the best care possible. Born and raised in Jamaica, I came to the U.S. in my early teens for better opportunities. I’m the eldest of 10 siblings and the first to be in the medical field. I’ve always felt that health care was my calling and was strongly influenced by the nurses and doctors who cared for me as an ill and fragile child growing up in the Caribbean. Missing many days of school and thinking I might not ever get well but I was fortunate to receive exceptional care and ultimately had a good outcome. So, I strive to give my patients the same care and compassion I experienced. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I like to cook and I relax by reading and watching movies.
