I was born in Alabama and attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, where I met my wife. After training in Chicago, I moved to Florida and have been practicing primary care for 11 years. My journey into medicine was inspired by my mother and grandmother. My grandmother passed away from complications of diabetes in her early 50s, which motivated my mother to become a dietician and promote healthy eating. Growing up, I was encouraged to eat well, which instilled in me a passion for prevention and care. A good day at work for me is helping someone smile and find hope.
