About me

Mental health is a big part of a person's positive health outcome. As a mental health counselor at Sanitas, complete patient care is my priority. I can listen to patient’s who speak English or Spanish––and when they get insights into their mental health well-being so they can work toward their short- and long-term goals, I feel accomplished. When their symptoms improve and they are motivated to get well, it is a great day.

I moved to the United States from Cuba when I was 19 years old to reunite with my family. And now, I’ve lived in Miami for 22 years. When I was going to school, I enjoyed math, and for a while, wanted to major in it, but my love for psychology pulled me toward healthcare. I believe that health is holistic and encompasses physical, social and mental well-being. I love helping people achieve their health goals by focusing on their individual needs to improve their mental health.

Meditation is part of my daily routine and I volunteer to help people in need when time permits. On my days off I enjoy spending time with family and friends. It’s particularly nice to travel to Germany to visit family. I also love music, going to concerts, parks, museums and traveling.
