At Sanitas, it's about helping patients untangle their thoughts and understand the complexity of themselves. It’s hard and rewarding work figuring out what will help a patient heal. Caring for the patient as a whole is effective and efficient in delivering integrated care, improving patient outcomes and reducing stigma related to mental health. Born and raised in Dominican Republic, I was 18 years old when I moved to the U.S. and am happy to have had both countries as home. Bilingual in Spanish and English, I enjoy communicating with my patients in either language. Working in healthcare has always been my passion—it allows me to help people and make a difference in their lives. Volunteering in local communities gives me a better understanding of the differences in the customs and beliefs of others. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling and learning about food, traditions and languages of different cultures.
