Florida Blue members in Orlando will soon have exclusive access to fully-bilingual medical facilities that offer unlimited no-copay-primary care doctor visits and online chats with doctors.

GuideWell, the parent company of Florida Blue, is building the eight Santias Medical Centers after success with its 10 Sanitas locations in South Florida and Tampa.

The Sanitas locations will be located in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties, including two locations in east Orlando, a location in Ocoee, a location in Longwood, two locations in Kissimmee, a location in Poinciana and a location near Mall of Millenia.

Not counting the Florida Blue centers, this is GuideWell’s second brick-and-mortar venture in providing medical care in Central Florida. The company, which dubs itself a health solution — not insurance — company, currently has three urgent care centers here under the GuideWell Emergency Doctors brand.

“We’re well beyond [being an insurance company],” said Pat Geraghty, CEO of Florida Blue, in a recent interview.

Sanitas Medical Centers is a joint venture between GuideWell and Organización Sanitas Internacional, now under the Keralty brand. Sanitas has locations in the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Spain, Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

“This collaborative approach helps provide improved access to quality care, a better patient experience and lower costs for Florida Blue members,” said Dr. Juan Estrada, CEO Sanitas Florida, in a statement.

The medical centers offer primary care, urgent care, laboratory and diagnostic imaging services along with educational programs in wellness and disease management.

The centers are also open during evenings and weekends.

The centers are scheduled to open before the end of the year, according to Florida Blue.
