Miami-based healthcare provider Sanitas, which focuses on the Hispanic marketplace, will open its first clinics in Connecticut next week, one in Newington and the other in Bridgeport.

The Sanitas Medical Centers will open Nov. 28. Work continues on a third Sanitas Medical Center in Orange, which is slated to open in mid-February, according to a representative at the company.

The clinics offer primary care, specialty care, urgent care, lab work and diagnostic imaging, prescription medication services, vaccinations, and disease management and wellness programs.

Sanitas is a joint venture between GuideWell Mutual Holding Co. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Organizacion Sanitas Internacional of Colombia.

The Newington clinic is at 196 Kitts Lane. Bridgeport's is at 4551 Main St. The Orange clinic will be at 100 Boston Post Road. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and may be extended to Sunday next year, the representative said.

The Hartford Business Journal reported Sanitas' leases in three Connecticut shopping centers in October.

Sanitas/GuideWell and ConnectiCare partnered to offer Sanitas' multicultural healthcare delivery model in Connecticut. Sanitas also will take Medicare and Sanitas Internacional members, plus self-pay patients.
