As a family nurse practitioner, I listen to each patient and treat them with the same compassion I would want my family treated. It’s very important for me to educate patients so they have autonomy over their own healthcare. A good day at work is when my patients know they are well cared for and leave with knowledge of their condition and how to take care of themselves. I came to the U.S. from Cuba to create a better life for my family, and we recently relocated to Tampa. Medicine has always interested me, and I enjoy continually learning about new advances in the healthcare field. It’s important for me to use my knowledge to take care of others and being bilingual in English and Spanish helps me make that happen. I enjoy being at home relaxing with my family when I’m not at work.
