I want new patients at Sanitas to know that my team and I will be the type of doctors they expect: respectful, available and willing to listen and help. For me, a world of health means a complete approach to healthcare, focusing on the whole individual—not just their physical needs but also mental, spiritual and emotional ones. A world of health also means that health goes beyond the individual to include the family and their social environment. When I meet a formerly ill patient on the street or at the grocery store living their lives the way they are meant to, that’s a great feeling for any doctor to have.

I was born in Bogota, Colombia, and came to the U.S. in 2001 as a medical resident after completing my medical degree. One of the best things about medicine is that I get to meet new people every day, interact with them and help them live better lives. Knowing that I can make a difference in my patients is extremely rewarding.

In my personal life, travel is a passion. Now that I have children of my own, I can’t wait to travel with them, so they can become world citizens and understand the world is bigger than our neighborhood.
