About me

I was born in Colorado Springs, CO and raised mostly in Kansas City, MO. After learning basic Spanish in High School I was able to become more fluent during trips to other countries—in Spain, where I worked on organic farms just before starting medical school, and in Guatemala, were I went on a medical mission trip during my training. But the best practice has been in Miami.

My experience in organic farming is still a passion for me. At home, I have a lot of fruits, vegetables, trees, and flowers. They are like my children. I’m also fond of painting and drawing, bicycling, kayaking and cooking.

I went into medicine because I love the biology of the human body, and because I want to help improve my community. I chose to specialize in Family Medicine because preventive medicine is the best way to help people live long healthy lives. So in addition to helping patients get better when they’re sick, I help them avoid illness by making the most of their health.

Whenever I see patients leave my office with a smile on their face, I know I helped improve their health and quality of life in some way. And anytime that happens, it’s a good day for me. That’s really what Sanitas is all about: keeping you healthy and making that as convenient as possible. To me “a world of health,” means that the most important thing in each person's own world is their health and the health of their family members.
