About me

I was born and raised in Coral Springs, Florida.  I received my undergraduate degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.  I then worked at John Hopkins Hospital doing clinical research before attending PA school at the University of Florida.  From there I moved to California and spent four years working in urgent care.  My mother is from Ecuador and growing up I would spend my summers teaching English at an elementary school in Guayaquil as well as volunteering at the local ER.

English is my first language, but I am also fluent in Spanish and can engage in quick conversations in French.  I learned Spanish as my mother’s side of the family is from Ecuador, and I grew up with my grandmother who only spoke Spanish.  I also studied French for four years in high school.

I decided to go into medicine while working closely with many physicians during clinical research.  I became more interested in direct patient care and decided to pursue my passion in medicine.

A good day at work means I was able to make a difference in my patients’ lives by improving their health.  I also enjoy education my patients and answering their questions, so they are able to understand their conditions.

I want you to know that at Sanitas we provide our patients with compassionate care and treat our patients like family.  We take the time to listen to our patients and create individualized care.

When I take off my coat, I love spending time with my husband and two dogs.  I also enjoy reading and bike riding.
