About me

I was born in Chicago, Illinois but relocated to the small town of Flora, Mississippi when I was just two years old.  I eventually graduated from a HBCU known as Tougaloo College and was accepted into Brown University School of Medicine.  I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, whose local chapters are active in improvement of the economic and social landscapes of the communities around Memphis.  Since completion of my residency, I have worked in the Whitehaven area as a primary care provider for twenty-six years.

I decided to go into medicine because I participated in a Biomedical Sciences Program during high school.  This program exposed me to African American physicians, chemists, pharmacists, and scientist which helped me understand that this career path was possible for me.

A good day at work means that my patients are showing improvements in their health and tell me that they feel better!

I want you to know that at Sanitas you will receive personalized care so that you will not feel devalued as an individual.  A partnership is created between patient and provider that involves shared decision making in that individual’s healthcare.

When I take off my coat, I like to visit the local Barnes and Nobles to drink coffee and read.
