Healing without empathizing often fails because the confidence that a patient will have as their doctor is developed by listening and understanding. A good day at work is when I help patients regain their health, especially when they leave my office with a smile, because they’ve felt well cared for. My father was a doctor and he had a strong influence on me. So becoming a doctor was a dream of mine since childhood. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to study medicine and now I enjoy the profession each day. I moved to the U.S. from Cuba seeking freedom and prosperity for myself and my family, and for the past seven years, we’ve called Miami home. I like spending time with my two sons, my wife and family. We enjoy traveling together, and I also like fishing and sports.
