As a family nurse practitioner at Sanitas, I provide the best possible care for each of my patients. I bring a personal touch to healthcare and am interested in each patient's health and support group. For me, a good day at work means that I can go home knowing that I made a difference in my patients' lives and had a positive impact on their day. I always strive to improve their health conditions through positive care. Cuba was my home until I was 6 years old, then my family and I came to the United States. Spanish has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—both of my parents spoke it in our home growing up. I'm glad I'm fluent in both Spanish and English—it helps me communicate with more patients and people. Medical vocations run in my family: mother is a nurse practitioner and my grandmother was in the medical field as well. In fact, my mother and I attended medical school at the same time—she graduated only four months before I did. I've always wanted to help people, and a career in the medical field satisfies this dream. When I take off my lab coat, I spend lots of my time at the beach with my Shar Pei, Sushi. I also enjoy spending time with my family during our weekly family dinners. Another pleasure is reading on our boat. |
