At Sanitas, the whole team supports the BeWell program in providing care that treats patients as a whole person, each with unique needs. A good day at work means my patients found a tool or skill they can connect with and start to see results. They report that their symptoms have reduced and they’ve found the motivation to use those skills to get to the new level.
Born and raised in Iowa, I’ve lived in Wisconsin, England, and now, Tennessee. My passion and calling in life has been practicing mental health counseling, crisis response work and other supportive services in the Memphis area.
At the end my work day, I like to use one of my coping skills—music, crafts or being in nature—to decompress and refill my cup. It's important that I practice what I preach. If I don’t put in the work to take care of myself, then I can’t expect my patients to do the same.
