Arwa Laheri, MD

I was born in Mumbai, India and grew up in a small town called Jalgaon, where I completed my schooling until 12th grade. Then I went to med school in New Mumbai. Afterward, I married and moved to the U.S. with my husband and completed my residency in Internal Medicine in Detroit. Today I live in Katy, TX and work at the Sanitas Medical Center there.

I enjoy getting to know people from different cultures at a social level, where we as health care providers may have a positive impact on their health and wellbeing in general. While Gujarati is my mother tongue and we speak that at home, I’m also fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi. 

I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine after helping my mother, who was being treated for a severe skin condition. So my goal is to help serve people and be a means of healing during their illnesses. A good day at work means I have given enough time to listen to my patients and helped them understand and take charge of their health concerns to improve their wellbeing.

I expect to give the best care possible through the Sanitas team, where you can expect compassionate, comprehensive care. In my leisure time, I love to spend time with my family, cooking meals for them and nurturing my little backyard garden.
