About me

As a nurse at Sanitas, I'm part of a patient-caring team providing comprehensive care and a multidisciplinary approach to excellent quality healthcare. A good day at work means I connected with my patients and made a difference in their lives. An accurate diagnosis, a patient's positive response to treatment, and a new or familiar face in the community all contribute to a good day at work for me.

Fluent in both Spanish and English, I was born in Cuba and raised in a family of small-town physicians. I grew up to love the role that physician’s play in communities—I knew that's what I wanted to be. It’s a privilege to help people during times of need and provide preventive care to help patients lead a healthier life. I was trained as a medical doctor in Cuba and practiced for sixteen years. In 1999, I moved to the United States and have lived happily in Miami, Florida, with my husband and children. As I made Miami my new home, I rejoined the healthcare field and served many different roles, including licensed practical nurse (LPN), registered nurse (RN), and advance practice registered nurse (APRN). These experiences provided me with many different perspectives and a more complete picture of what it takes to care for my patients.

When I take off my coat, I love the time I spend with my husband, children, and their spouses. I also like to read an intriguing detective novel and enjoy taking a nice relaxing bath.
